Recently I blogged about the recent swell of motorcycle fatalities in Yorkshire. Sadly five people were killed in the space of just two weeks. The total number of motorcyclists killed on the county’s roads now stands at fourteen which is shocking considering we’re only in midSeptember and the total for the whole of 2009 was fifteen.
Police chiefs and road safety experts have been at a loss to explain how so many motorcyclists have lost their lives in a concentrated area in such a short space of time with Deputy Police Constable for the area Adam Briggs describing the deaths as ‘needless and preventable’.
