Two Lorries, a Van and a Motorbike

Yet another motorcyclist has died after a rush hour smash last week in Aberdeenshire. The crash happened at around 8am on Thursday 15th May and involved a motorcycle, a van and two lorries.

Although the circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear a twenty-four year old motorcyclist has become another nasty statistic.

The road, which runs from Aberdeen to Banff, is known as an accident black-spot with more than 150 crashes and 14 fatalities in the last six years alone.

Accidents like these provide a stark reality about the dangers of riding. In order to reduce the number of motorcycle accidents and fatalities on Britain’s roads it’s essential to educate riders and drivers so that they’re aware of each other’s presence and are able to identify when it is and isn’t safe to make manoeuvre. As recent statistics have shown, the majority of motorcycle accidents are at the fault of another driver and not the cyclist themselves.

BikeSafe is a scheme that’s been set up by local police units and is accessible to pretty much anyone in the UK. It’s a scheme intended for bikers, whether you’ve held your licence for 60 days or 60 years, and is run by advanced police riders – possibly the safest riders on the road – who provide workshops about safety on the road.

Think! Is another national campaign where safety advice is offered to cyclists and drivers in order to try and minimise the number of accidents, especially as the weather warms up and the summer month approach.

If you’ve had an accident that wasn’t your fault, Express Motorbike Solicitors are experts in the field and will provide you with legal advice and the high quality service that’s necessary to successfully win a claim in court.
